Under the general oversight of the County Commissioners, the Director of Highways/Civil Engineer plans, manages and coordinates County construction and year-around maintenance operations of the Road & Bridge and Weed Department employees and activities in support of them. This position is responsible for overseeing the maintenance and improvements on approximately 1400 lane miles of roadway, numerous bridge programs, and managing a multi-million dollar annual budget.

Bachelor’s in Engineering; Professional Engineering License (Civil) in the State of Idaho or other state PE with Idaho reciprocity; at least five years’ progressively responsible work experience in building and maintaining roads, highways and bridges, including at least five years’ supervisory and management experience within a highway or public works department; and excellent communication and leadership skills.  View complete qualifications and application info @ www.co.nezperce.id.us/Departments/Personnel.
