Provide technical support to Public Works engineering programs, including transportation planning, the Capital Improvement Plan (CIP), and construction projects; performs assigned duties within the scope of authority, training, and area of responsibility, with duties varying by assignment. Assist engineering staff in preparing designs, graphics, specifications, cost estimates, and technical documentation for Public Works projects. Conduct research, analysis, and reviews of plans, reports, specifications, proposals, and estimates to support project development and ensure quality standards are met. Support planning, design, coordination, and inspection of CIP, transportation, utility, and other civil engineering projects; exchanges technical information with regional agencies, businesses, and external partners. Assist in developing technical drawings, maps, and GIS data using established GIS and AutoCAD systems; collects, verifies, and performs quality control on spatial data. Participate in field data collection activities, including traffic studies and site inspections, to verify conditions and ensure compliance with City standards.
