A postdoctoral research position is available immediately for research at the interface of machine learning, optimization, and economics at the Krannert School of Management, Purdue University. The postdoctoral associate will work under the guidance of Thanh Nguyen, Will Wei Sun, and Mohit Tawarmalani. The position will be for a period of 2 years.
Specifically, the research will focus on using high-dimensional data to develop predictive models of user behavior and to incorporate them in the analysis of prescriptive decisions as well as market design problems. Possible research topics include reinforcement learning, tensor learning, decision forests, game theory, and non-convex optimization. The position is supported using Ross-Lynn Research Scholar Funds. The candidate will be expected to teach a course in each of the years of the funding.
Highly motivated candidates with PhD degrees in statistics, mathematics, computer science, operations research, or related fields who are interested to participate in this exciting endeavor at the emerging frontier of data science are encouraged to apply.
