Responsibilities:
- Assisting engineering and manufacturing in improving yields and achieving cost reduction through supplier problem identification and problem solving. Also, strategic partnering with new/existing quartz suppliers to ensure the supplier has the ongoing capability to meet company specified requirements. Finally, the implementation and maintenance of dock to stock program for critical quartz components
- Technical reviews of components to ensure the component and finished product critical dimensions/features are identified
- Round robin artifact measurements with suppliers semi-annually; compile data and perform measurement correlation studies
- Participate in supplier surveys and assessments, as needed; monitor the supplier for timely completion of corrective actions resultant from assessments
- Training suppliers on company supplier specifications

Requirements:
- Experience reviewing supplier defect trends, initiating product/process correction actions with supplier as appropriate
- Additional experience of participating in technical reviews of components to ensure the component and finished product critical dimensions/features are identified
- Further experience of determining appropriate measurement methodology for component critical dimensions and creating supplier inspection plans to ensure the supplier measures the component in the same manner
- Proficient blueprint reading skills
- Proficient CMM program writing and editing skills
- Knowledge of inspection methods and proper use of inspection equipment used to determine product acceptance
- Proficiency in determining best measuring technique using Geometrical Dimensional and Tolerancing (GDT) ASME Y14.5
- Able to communicate with suppliers, engineering and manufacturing
- Able to problem solve by collecting and analyzing data to draw conclusions
- Proficient in the use of basic statistical process control techniques - control charts, (variable x&R), Cp and CpK calculations

Education & EXPERIENCE:

B.S. Degree in Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent experience.

3 Years in an Engineering, Manufacturing or Quality Control Environment.  ASQ Certified Quality Engineer preferred.

An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
