The Mariucci Professor of Practice was created to support the civil, environmental, and geospatial engineering programs in producing practical engineers. Accordingly, the successful candidate will collaboratively develop and teach undergraduate classes and laboratories to specifically support the integration of real-world challenges with engineering design, create innovative instructional materials and project-based experiences, contribute to program assessment and accreditation activities, participate in outreach and student mentoring, and other departmental service.
To be considered for a Professor of Practice position, the applicant must possess at least a Bachelor of Science in civil engineering or related degree (such as environmental or surveying engineering) and significant industry experience. Licensure as a Professional Engineer is required. Evidence of at least 10 years of relevant experience in the civil engineering, environmental engineering, surveying, or construction industry. Past university teaching experience and a master’s level degree in civil engineering or closely related discipline is desirable.
