Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with architects to create efficient and economical designs consistent with the aesthetic design intent.
- Produce structural design calculations for building structural components including foundations. Typical components include steel, masonry, concrete and wood materials.
- Analyze building structures with 3D computer software.
- Create and modify design drawings using AutoCAD and Revit.
- Work collaboratively with the internal design team in preparing designs, drawings, and specifications.
- Assist in basic interpretation and verify compliance with applicable codes and engineering standards and practices.
- Work with other engineering disciplines and professionals in the coordination of the project under the direction of the project manager.
- Assist the team in providing support services during construction that can include submittal reviews, responses to requests for information and contract document clarifications.
- Perform site visits for construction observation.
Requirements:
- BS in engineering, MS preferred.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in structural analysis and design.
- Licensure/Certification: PE certification preferred; PE certification required to be successfully obtained within 12 months of employment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience in the design of structures and the production of construction documents.
- Knowledge of building systems and detailing.
- Efficient work ethic to complete tasks on time and within budgets.
- Proficient in structural design/analysis software.
- Must be flexible and adapt easily to changing priorities, work independently and/or in a team environment, strong attention to detail.
