Responsibilities:
Collaborate with architects to create efficient and economical designs consistent with the aesthetic design intent.
Produce structural design calculations for building structural components including foundations. Typical components include steel, masonry, concrete and wood materials.
Analyze building structures with 3D computer software.
Create and modify design drawings using AutoCAD and Revit.
Work collaboratively with the internal design team in preparing designs, drawings, and specifications.
Assist in basic interpretation and verify compliance with applicable codes and engineering standards and practices.
Work with other engineering disciplines and professionals in the coordination of the project under the direction of the project manager.
Assist the team in providing support services during construction that can include submittal reviews, responses to requests for information and contract document clarifications.
Perform site visits for construction observation.
Requirements:
BS in engineering, MS preferred.
A minimum of 3 years of experience in structural analysis and design.
Licensure/Certification: PE certification preferred; PE certification required to be successfully obtained within 12 months of employment.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Experience in the design of structures and the production of construction documents.
Knowledge of building systems and detailing.
Efficient work ethic to complete tasks on time and within budgets.
Proficient in structural design/analysis software.
Must be flexible and adapt easily to changing priorities, work independently and/or in a team environment, strong attention to detail.
