The Public Works Department is currently looking for a motivated individual with a desire to learn and mature professionally to join the Traffic Engineering Division and encourages all engineers with relevant professional experience to apply!
The Traffic Engineering Division is responsible for engineering functions in Public Works associated with traffic engineering. This includes transportation planning, design, and operations, traffic controls, analysis of collisions or traffic problems, speed control measures, management of the Traffic Operations Center, and coordinating with other City departments, consultants, and outside agencies.
The ideal candidate will have knowledge of general engineering principles and standards, the ability to analyze data to make intelligent assessments and the ability to learn quickly in a supportive environment. Although not necessary, experience with data collection, field investigations, the development or review of traffic control plans and work experience as a Public Works employee would be beneficial. To be successful in this position, strong judgement and prioritization skills are essential. A Professional Engineer (PE) License is NOT required for this position.
