To help us achieve this vision, we need an experienced Transportation professional to lead a team of transportation engineers and transport planners working hard to ensure the suitability and resilience of the district’s existing and future Transportation infrastructure. Could this be your next career move? Your background may be in transportation engineering, asset management planning or transport planning, and you’ll have well-honed leadership skills.

Lead a team of Transportation professionals (asset management planning, transport planning, traffic engineering, road safety), and provide direction and support, enable the team to perform at its best.
Oversee the development of strategic plans and asset management plans for the long-term development of New Plymouth’s transportation infrastructure.
Oversee delivery of infrastructure planning projects, operating as Project Manager as required.
Develop strategic, programme and detailed business cases for infrastructure projects.
Engage with the community and project stakeholders, and form collaborative working relationships within Council and with consultants and regulatory authorities.
Tertiary qualification in Civil/Transportation Engineering or Transport Planning, or a related field.
7+ years of related experience.
Have previously led others as a project manager, technical delivery lead or team lead.
Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills with a collaborative working style.
