Position Description: Under the general direction of the Director for Mobility Planning & Traffic Systems (MPTS), the Senior Planner conducts a broad variety of research and analysis related to transportation planning. Plan, manage and assist with implementation of campus transportation plans, such as the Sustainable Transportation Plan and the Active Transportation Plan. Coordinate with and assist other Transportation units in gathering and vetting data and information for inclusion in various department plans and reports. Coordinate implementation of various plans with the operational units within the department. Perform extensive outreach activities with both neighboring jurisdictions such as the City of Los Angeles and the City of Santa Monica, and on-campus outreach to numerous stakeholders and departmental partners. Conduct various studies, surveys, and field reviews in support of UCLA's extensive, award-winning Transportation Demand Management (TDM) program. Perform a wide range of transportation planning duties in support of the bicycle, pedestrian, TDM, and sustainable transportation programs, while focusing on today's transportation issues. The position provides exposure to all facets of transportation planning, including: traffic monitoring; transit surveys and studies; vanpool, carpool, bicycle and pedestrian planning; and development impacts.
