About International Atomic Energy Agency
The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) is the world's central intergovernmental forum for scientific and technical co-operation in the nuclear field. It works for the safe, secure and peaceful uses of nuclear science and technology, contributing to nuclear arms control and disarmament and by responding to requests for verification and other technical assistance associated with related agreements and arrangements. Based at Brookhaven National Laboratory, the International Safeguards Project Office (ISPO) is responsible for the technical and administrative management of the U.S. Support Program to the IAEA's Department of Safeguards. ISPO serves as a link between the IAEA and candidates within the United States who are qualified to fill important IAEA positions, those funded by the US government and by the IAEA itself.
