The incumbent is responsible for implementing innovative traffic safety policy and approaches to promote the elimination of preventable traffic related property loss, injuries, and fatalities on City streets. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: TYPICAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: These are a representative sample; position assignments may vary. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities or some combination of the following: Knowledge of federal, state, and local laws and regulations regarding traffic engineering/transportation. Knowledge of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and AutoCAD. Knowledge of electrical systems. Understanding of proper safety procedures. Familiarity and knowledge of the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD). Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (e.g. Word, Excel, and Outlook). Skill in conducting traffic studies/investigations. Reading and interpreting GIS and AutoCAD plans. Skill in contract administration, preparing work orders, project management, and reviewing technical plans and designs. Skill in traffic data collection and statistical analysis. Effective skill in oral and written communication. |
