RK&K opened it's doors in Austin, TX and we are currently hiring a Transportation Practice Leader to our team. You will have the opportunity to build, manage and develop a team of professionals based in our new office. Your primary focus will be to expand our transportation practice throughout the State of Texas by utilizing your current resources and RK&K’s impeccable reputation; as well as developing and maintaining relationships with clients throughout Texas. From there, connecting these client needs with innovative and creative solutions developed by our technical experts, leading project teams composed of staff from throughout the firm in delivering these solutions, and establishing RK&K as a trusted adviser.
As a Transportation Practice Leader in Austin, TX you will:
Represent RK&K in front of existing and potential clients in Texas on all aspects of transportation projects
Work with our firm leadership to build a team and develop a business strategy within Texas
Interface with clients, state and federal agencies, and sub-consultant partners to pursue, win, and execute projects.
Identify and create project opportunities by networking with potential clients, such as the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) and other transportation agencies
Negotiate and manage project scopes of work, schedules, and budgets for a variety of projects
Routinely utilize internal systems for client relationship and project management
Be fully engaged in solving complex problems related to transportation projects
Mentor staff by training employees, establishing personal growth opportunities and conducting performance evaluations
Provide senior level engineering expertise on all projects ranging from conceptual engineering and feasibility studies, to detailed engineering designs, and preparation of construction specifications and contract documents
Provide quality control on projects within your specific technical area of expertise
Minimum of Fifteen (15) years of experience in transportation engineering services with progressive responsibilities including business development and project delivery
Be highly engaged in professional engineering societies, regularly attending local meetings especially those with high levels of client participation
Capacity to articulate ideas and concepts both visually and contextually, including strong technical and proposal writing skills
Ability to think creatively, resolve abstract problems, motivate others, work collaboratively, and be self-directed
A portfolio of local work and connections with the TxDOT and other Texas transportation agencies
Required Education and Certification:
Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Environmental Engineering or related field
Professional Engineering (P.E.) License in the State of Texas
Master’s degree in Civil/Environmental Engineering, Business Administration or similar
Project Management (PMP) certification
