The Director of Quality responsible for the development & execution of the strategy plan for all quality assurance policies, programs and initiatives. This position will be responsible for building the quality systems for all sites in the PLZ network. Significant experience in developing control plans and process auditing is required for this position. Experience in Lean manufacturing implementation with a focus on building quality into processes will be a key focus for this individual. This position will require approximately 50% travel.
Oversee and direct the quality direction of the corporation and the effectiveness of the quality management system.
Quality management of the company’s products including developing and managing measurement systems that incorporate Customer’s View of Quality and in-process manufacturing quality.
Develop a quality system for the effective management of purchased finished goods.
Develop a vendor qualification program that ensures that PLZ aligns with qualified vendors capable of meeting high quality standards.
Maintain a quality assessment system to monitor corporate objectives.
Participates in new product design from beginning to end, insuring that manufacturing process capabilities match customer requirements.
Meet with vendors, customers, quality representatives and company personnel to discuss and resolve quality problems.
Work with plant quality managers to develop site specific control plans and process audit discipline.
Bachelor degree in scientific or engineering discipline
Minimum of 5+ years related work in a manufacturing environment
Six Sigma / Lean certification preferred
Experience with M&A is a plus
Experience with SAP is a plus
Travel up to 40%
