The Energy Services (ES) Technician provides a variety of non-invasive proactive maintenance testing services to MRES members, their customers, and others to improve their energy efficiency, safety, and operational reliability. Performs inspections, analyzes systems to determine current conditions, identifies potential problems, recommends solutions, and prepares reports.
Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
Minimum of five years of mechanical and/or electrical experience in the commercial or industrial maintenance field with an emphasis in electric motor vibration analysis.
Solid mechanical aptitude of electrical, mechanical, or compressed air systems.
Perform vibration analysis, balancing and laser alignment diagnostic services
Ability to utilize any or all of these disciplines: infrared thermography, motor testing, or ultrasonic testing.
Exceptional analytical, problem solving and troubleshooting skills; detail oriented.
Outstanding interpersonal, relationship building, and customer service competencies.
Self-motivated, collaborative style, high level of initiative and ability to work independently.
Excellent verbal, written, and public presentation skills; ability to concisely and clearly articulate recommendations.
Effective planning and organizational skills.
Working knowledge of Microsoft products (Excel, Word, and Outlook); utilize proprietary reporting applications.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Experience working with electric motors, maintenance testing or production mechanical systems.
Current certification in infrared, ultrasonic, vibration analysis or motor circuit analysis
Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities: Utilize and care for basic and specialized hand tools.
Up to 70% travel by motor vehicle; includes 6-10 overnight trips per month dependent on location.
Schedule is generally 40 hours per week, worked between Monday-Friday; 10 hour work days
Must reside within the MRES member footprint.
High school diploma or GED.
Able to obtain vibration analysis accredited certification within the first twelve months; ability to achieve other certifications as required.
Work in various environments and elevated surfaces/heights for extended periods of time; some work outdoors.
Lift and carry equipment/products up to 50 lbs.
Hear and see at a level sufficient to perform duties of the position.
