Program Director Smart Airport and Aviation Partnership
National Institute of Aerospace (NIA) is actively recruiting for a Program Director to lead a newly created Smart Airport and Aviation Partnership (SAAP) in Atlantic County New Jersey near the FAA William J. Hughes Technical Center.
The SAAP has been established through a Regional Innovation Strategies Grant from the U.S. Economic Development Administration to transform the region’s innovation ecosystem by incubating, accelerating, and attracting new businesses into a high-tech cluster. The companies in the cluster will leverage “smart” infrastructure and Internet-of-Things (IoT) technologies for airport and aviation applications in collaboration with the FAA and airports in Atlantic City and Cape May County. The successful candidate will have overall responsibility for the execution of SAAP programs, including accelerating businesses, attracting capital, organizing events, marketing the programs, attracting businesses, and tracking and reporting on key metrics.
This position reports directly to the President and Executive Director of NIA.

BS degree or equivalent in field of engineering or sciences and minimum 10 years of related experience.
Proven expertise in the leadership, coordination, management and administration of complex programs.
Experience in economic development, business acceleration and/or entrepreneurship.
Ability to travel up to 15% of time to customer sites and other locations in support of program.
MS degree in field of engineering or sciences.
Strong program management, presentation, interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
Working knowledge of FAA and FAA programs.
Working knowledge of “smart” infrastructure and IoT technologies.
Working knowledge of aviation and airport operations.
