Full-time position available with KCMO’s Public Works Department, Capital Projects Division, 5310 Municipal Ave. Normal Work Days/Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. Performs complicated traffic impact studies. Designs and reviews pavement marking and traffic signs. Coordinates with stakeholders in transportation projects. Provides engineering solutions to roadway capacity issues and traffic safety problems. Coordinates with MODOT related to the transportation infrastructure improvement projects. Prepares the conceptual design of roadways and intersections.
REQUIRES 2 years of progressively responsible experience as a registered engineer. Within 6 months of hire date, must be registered as a professional engineer with Missouri Board for Professional Architects, Engineers and Land Surveyors. Must pass a pre-employment drug screen as prescribed by the city. Preference given to applicants registered as a Professional Traffic Operations Engineer (PTOE).
