Cabot Microelectronics Corporation (CMC) has an immediate opening for an experienced Quality Systems Engineer. In this role you will be responsible for the coordination and execution of activities involved in the evaluation, development and improvement of CMC’s Quality Systems at Hillsboro. As a qualified candidate you will have experience in Quality Systems Management and Statistical Process Control (SPC). In this role you will participate in the execution of CMC’s quality systems and will tailor those processes to Hillsboro’s unique business needs.
The major responsibilities of the Quality Systems Engineer are:
Continue to maintain ISO 9001:2015 certification for the Hillsboro site. Manage the ISO registration process, coordinate surveillance audits, and provide corrective action responses to the registrar as necessary.
Coordinate Hillsboro internal audits, Management of Change (MOC) and Management Review to ensure these processes are effective and value added.
Support Customer Quality Engineering (CQE) teams to prepare for customer audits and participate in customer audits of the Hillsboro Pads facility as necessary.
Implement an Enterprise Quality Management System (EQMS) in Hillsboro in partnership with IT and the Quality Lead.
Support and encourage other team members across the globe as they define, maintain and refine Standard Operation Procedures (SOP) for areas related to Quality. Implement these SOPs in Hillsboro as appropriate.
Contribute to the global Quality Systems Team to define effective and efficient Quality System strategies which support CMCs visions and growth and apply to Hillsboro Pads business.

Requirements for the position include:
B.S. in Technical Area or Quality Management; M.S. in Management a plus.
2 or more years Quality experience, with audit experience and/or chemical industry experience. Experience in the semiconductor, microelectronics or high-tech industries and international business experience, particularly in the Asia Pacific region is preferred.
Must have an understanding of continuous improvement methods, problem-solving techniques, audit principles, and change management processes. Knowledge of FMEA, SPC and the use of control plans. Understanding of Quality Management Systems specifically ISO 9001:2015 and IATF 16949 is necessary. Certifications through ASQ as a lead auditor, Quality Engineer (CQE) and/or Six Sigma (SSGB, SSBB) a plus.
Demonstrated project management skills; organizational skills and flexibility for multi-task situations; Good problem-solving skills.
Experienced with project management software and Microsoft Windows. Document Control software experience a plus.
