McCain is looking for an Outside Sales Representative to prospect and generate new business, while maintaining existing customer relationships. This position requires prospecting new accounts in the field to generate new permanent sales. The hours and level of responsibility may vary by location or line of business.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Identify leads, manage prospects and acquire new business.
Maintain customer relationships and existing business.
Determine customer needs and propose appropriate solutions.
Complete prospecting activities to establish first and follow up appointments with customer decision makers.
Prepare and deliver sales presentations and follow up with key decision makers.
Utilize company’s Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system on a daily basis, scheduling and documenting activities, and developing prospective customer profiles.
Develop and maintain an awareness of market behavior and competitive trends and respond to the team accordingly.
Regularly meet with the Sales Manager to review sales activities, progress on goals, and status of prospective customers.
Attend industry meetings and events within the territory.
Get manufactured and distributed products specified with agencies.
Perform other job-related duties and responsibilities as may be assigned from time to time.
Skills and Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, Sales or related field preferred.
Minimum 2 years of business-to-business (B2B) sales experience with a proven track record of success.
One-year experience in a customer-facing sales role (B2B).
Good driving record.
Must present and communicate in a professional manner.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Must be organized with good time management skills.
Possess proven analytical/ problem solving solutions for the customer and the company.
Computer proficiency in Windows and Microsoft applications.
Sales prospecting experience.
Experience in developing and executing territory sales strategies.
Possess strong presentation, negotiation, and closing skills.
Must be self-motivated and able to work independently to meet or exceed goals.
Must have reliable transportation.
Additional skills may be required to perform additional task(s) specific to work location, department or line of business.
Possess strong organizational and time management skills.
Physical Conditions / Requirements:
No unusual physical requirements. Requires no heavy lifting. Remote office environment and traveling to and from agencies.
Occasional – Routine deadlines; usually sufficient lead time; variance in work volume seasonal and predictable; priorities can be anticipated; some interruptions are present; involves occasional exposure to demands and pressures from persons other than immediate supervisor.
Job frequently requires sitting in car or office and handling objects with hands.
Job occasionally requires standing, walking, bending, reaching, talking, hearing, and lifting up to 20 pounds.
Vision requirements: Ability to see information in print and/or electronically.
Frequent travel required, approximately up to 5 days a week.
