Altus Expert Services is adding a new Tax Manager, Real Estate Assessments to the team in Tysons Corner. We need someone with direct property tax reassessment knowledge looking for a step up to Senior Manager. Or, you may be an Assessor, Real Estate agent or Property Manager who wants to make a move into a role with more range. An analyst, a relationship builder, a project manager and a well-spoken case presenter, this is an opportunity for someone looking for challenges, variety and rewards.
We need a Property Tax Manager who can work on real estate tax reassessment projects from start to finish. Someone who can collaborate with staff while staying hands-on in the analysis and presentation preparation. Someone who can mentor a team and exceed client expectations.

Our new Tax Manager, Real Estate Assessment will:
Analyze property values. You will review commercial, residential and development property tax assessments. You will create an action plan for appealing tax assessments for up to 200 projects annually. You will conduct highly technical research and analysis to support your projects.
Present cases. You will negotiate settlements or advance appeals that result in favorable property tax reduction decisions for our clients.
Build relationships. You will reach out to prospects and existing clients in order to nurture relationships, identify new client opportunities and expand current engagements.
Manage and mentor. You will oversee the work of 1-2 direct reports providing coaching, training and technical guidance. You will supervise and sign-off on their work while offering constructive feedback.
Share knowledge. You will expand your understanding of the field through professional development and present yourself as a thought leader. You will attend conferences and networking events. ?
Our new Tax Manager, Real Estate Assessment has:
The education and experience. You have a Bachelor’s degree combined with 3+ years in the Real Estate industry and extensive service line knowledge in a consulting capacity. You have experience working with Appraisers and Assessors. You understand property valuations and tax assessments and the governance around thee concepts.
The technical skills. You have intermediate Excel experience and a firm grasp of complex financial calculations.
The communication. You are a confident, well-spoken presenter. Your writing and verbal skills are outstanding. You can speak to stakeholders at any level with the right amount of details.
The drive. You are self-motivated and take an entrepreneurial approach to your work. You want to exceed your goals and the expectations of your clients.
The consultative approach. You know how to position yourself as a trusted advisor, nurturing relationships, bringing in prospects and extending engagements to help your clients save money and succeed.
