Position available with the Aviation Department, Planning and Engineering Division, 601 Brasilia Ave., Kansas City International Airport. Assists with the airport's development and construction projects. Assists with efforts and execution of airport capital program and budget. Evaluates and executes the airport's capital program by planning and prioritizing capital projects, project programming, development and management of project budgets and implementation schedules, and stakeholder coordination. Ensures that all development complies with applicable FAA design standards, operating and administrative requirements. Facilitates and reviews the construction of improvements made by airport tenants. Supports the preparation of federal, state, and local grant applications when necessary. Assists in the preparation of and/or prepares drawings, specifications, cost estimates, reports, contracts and requests for proposals (RFPs). Continuously monitors and inspects construction work quality, workmanship, and material selection to ensure compliance with contract documents; identifies deficiencies, recommends corrective actions; coordinates the resolution of issues between parties.
REQUIRES professional engineer registration. Within 6 months of hire date, must be registered as a professional engineer with Missouri Board for Professional Architects, Engineers, and Land Surveyors. Must pass a pre-employment drug screen as prescribed by the City. Must successfully complete a 10-year FAA background check.
