The Transportation and Mobility Planner is a highly responsible, professional position. This position will support the continued development and implementation of a transportation and mobility initiatives and projects for the City, including coordinating the integration of transportation and land use policies. This position will act as an advocate for and within the City by developing, analyzing, and advocating multimodal transportation policy. The position will operationally report to the Community Development Administration Division and will work across departments, regional and state agencies, and local jurisdiction coalitions to coordinate strategic and sustainable transportation planning efforts. This is a progressively responsible position. Production of presentations and reports, management/administration of transportation policy documents and programs, project and consultant management is required.
The full salary range for this position is stated above. Starting wages are negotiable and dependent on the qualifications and experience of each individual candidate. The City of Westminster offers a bonus of up to $1,500 per year depending on the employee's fluency in Spanish, Hmong, and/or Laotian.
Education, Experience, Skills, Formal Training, Licenses, and Certifications Required:
Bachelor's Degree from a four year accredited college or university in transportation planning, land use planning, urban planning, public administration, government relations, or a closely related field
A minimum of five (5) years of experience developing transportation plans working with local, state or transit agencies, government officials
Master's Degree from a four year accredited college or university in transportation planning, land use planning, urban planning, public administration, government relations or a closely related field
Professional experience in transportation planning, transit, and multimodal policy
Professional experience in government relations, policy analysis or public administration in a government environment
Any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience, which would provide the required knowledge and skills, may be considered.
