From the Apollo missions to exploring Pluto, we have a long history of accomplishments. We are seeking a Chemical Engineer to support metal processing and recycling programs. This position will be located at the Jonesborough, Tennessee facility and will report to the Senior Manager of Engineering. We are seeking a motivated and experienced engineer to assist in the development and production of metal products from a metal fluoride, as well as a recycle process to cleanse metal and take it to a fluoride form for use in production processes. This position will work closely with AOT’s customers to meet their needs by leading the engineering aspects of planning, design, analyses, development, qualification, and production of the processes and will also work closely with Program Management personnel to meet AOT’s business goals.
Provides leadership in support of program tasks and hardware technology development test efforts. The successful candidate may support both development and production programs. Among the duties will be customer presentations and submittals, as well as coordinating activities with internal organizations such as Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Quality, Laboratories and Inspection.
Lead engineering support for the production of metal and recycling of metal. This includes requirements management, anomaly resolution, and anomaly prevention.
Plan, conduct, and analyze data from the production process.
Support process development and qualification, including supplier oversight and management.
Provide hardware fabrication support, including nonconformance resolution.
Present results at internal and external meetings.
Conduct performance other engineering analysis as required in support of trade studies and programs.
Support proposal activities and manage internal research and development efforts, as necessary.
Requires a Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or related field and 5 years of experience (or an equivalent combination of education and experience).
US Citizenship required. Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance at the appropriate level (U.S. Citizenship required). Must also be able to satisfy federal government requirements for access to government information, and having dual citizenship may preclude you from being able to meet this requirement.
Experience with chemical processes related to metal reduction and recycling technology development is desired.
Experience working in an equivalent engineering environment is desired.
