Currently, there is one Civil Engineer II vacancy in the Transportation Planning & Programming (TPP) Division of Street Transportation Department. This position applies professional civil and transportation engineering knowledge and skills to a variety of projects for Street Transportation Department Capital Improvement Program (CIP) projects including studies, design and review of horizontal and vertical roadway geometry. The incumbent would be required to work closely with outside agencies, neighboring municipalities, and private developers while providing guidance on roadway geometry and while proposing alternate solutions, whenever necessary. In addition to roadway geometry and applicable design standards, a thorough understanding of the Street Classification Map would be critical. Further, the incumbent would be responsible for designing and producing traffic-signal plans, and signing and striping plans, in accordance with Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD) and City’s standards, as applicable.
