What You Will Do

 

Gannett Fleming is looking for a Senior Structural Engineer to join our New York, NY office! The successful candidate will take an active role in facilities design and rehabilitation with public agencies and private clients in the Greater New York/New Jersey area. 


Responsibilities:

  • Ability to develop structural drawings in a concise and relevant manner. Proven record of structural analysis and design using structural steel, concrete and masonry construction materials.
  • Develop gravity and lateral systems for various low to mid-rise building projects.
  • Analyze existing structures for retrofits/rehabilitations.
  • Coordinate with and guide junior engineers to produce quality design drawings.
  • Perform field inspection of facilities and transit related structures as needed.
  • Proficiency in ETABS, SAP2000, RAM Structural System, RAM Concept, STAAD, Mathcad, TEDDS and other structural engineering analysis and design related software.
  • Sound knowledge of Revit, AutoCAD and MicroStation.
  • Ability to work and coordinate with various disciplines in a positive and productive manner.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering with a Structural emphasis is required.
  • Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering (MSCE) with structural curriculum is preferred but not required.
  • 4 - 8 years of structural design experience required.
  • PE license is required with ability to obtain New York and New Jersey professional engineering licenses within 6 months of the hiring date required.
  • Detailed orientated with strong people and team skills.
  • Must have strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license.
