A Full-time Postdoctoral fellow position is available to work on Gene Expression of sugarcane (Energy Cane). Initial appointment will be for two years, and is renewable upon satisfactory progress and available funding. This research is part a large project on Signaling and regulatory network studies associated to the Energy Cane sponsored by FAPESP. The research will be at the Laboratory of Plant Genomics and Molecular Biology at the Biological Sciences Dept. College of Agriculture “Luiz de Queiroz”, University of Sao Paulo (ESALQ/USP) under supervision of Profs. Helaine Carrer and Glaucia Mendes Souza.

RESPONSABILITIES: The postdoctoral fellow is expected to design experiments, research methods and protocols for lab experiments and assist in the supervision of students, other lab members and scientific collaborators. It is required knowledge and experience on bioinformatics tools, vectors design, qRT-PCR for expression analysis, and statistical analysis.

QUALIFICATIONS: This position requires Ph.D. in plant genetics and genomics, plant molecular biology, plant transformation, or related discipline. Experience in plant vector design and grass transformation is preferred.
Additional Salary Information: consists of a stipend of R$ 7.174,80/month, plus 15% of the annual value of the stipend is for technical reserve funds, which can be used to cover expenses directly related to the development of the research project.
