Our Structural Engineer career path is your opportunity to work on exciting and engaging large-scale infrastructure transportation projects. Each day, you will provide technical expertise as part of a team in completing bridge and transportation structure design and construction projects. You should be a self-motivated professional with a desire to grow personally as well as professionally with each Structural Engineering project.
Our Structure Engineers: • Work within the transportation and bridge teams in all aspects of structure design, from conceptual and preliminary design to final design and construction • Occasionally serve as a Project Engineer on complex bridge and port projects • Help coordinate design activities and meetings between staff, subcontractors, and CH2M • Assist in business development and proposal efforts • Interact with CH2M project teams and client program level directors • Complete tasks as a member of multidisciplinary project teams • Have strong written and oral communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
This position will be based out of our Santa Ana office and may include limited travel.
Basic Qualifications: • Bachelor of Science in Civil/Structural Engineering • 4-7 years structure design experience with a strong background in bridges, retaining structures and drainage structures • Strong knowledge of LRFD design code. Proficiency in LARSA, SAP2000 or similar analysis and design software • Ability to assemble plan set meeting client expectations
The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and experience:
Preferred Qualifications: • Master’s Degree in Structural Engineering • California Professional Engineer (PE) License • Through knowledge of CalTrans practice and procedures • Design-Build project experience a plus • Port and miscellaneous structure design experience
