The position is a full-time, tenure-track position with teaching during the fall and spring semesters, with the possibility of summer school teaching. Classes and other responsibilities are conducted primarily weekdays, but will include some evening classes and independent studies. Attendance will also be required at some evening and weekend events.
Responsibilities include teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels, development of significant scholarly endeavors, innovative curriculum development, advising students, and serving on university committees.

Applicants should have earned or be near completion of a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering. A specialization in land development, water resources, or general civil engineering is preferred but other areas will also be considered. This position will focus on teaching and course-based project work in the undergraduate program, so demonstrated initiative, effective teaching ability, and relevant scholarship or industry experience are necessary. The potential for a candidate to develop undergraduate and/or graduate level research programs is desired. It is also preferred that the successful candidate be eligible and pursue licensure as a Professional Engineer in the State of Texas.
