The Quality Manager is responsible for safeguarding product safety and quality while meeting Company and regulatory standards, and has oversight responsibility for a continuous quality improvement program that includes quality control and quality assurance. This person is responsible for ensuring that the production and distribution of products meets or exceeds all quality standards. This person also has responsibility for communicating quality results and the transfer of quality and QA knowledge to the workforce.
Provide leadership, direction, and guidance to the plant Quality Department and plant personnel by understanding regulatory, customer and internal quality requirements.
Oversee Quality Assurance systems in order to satisfy internal and customer requirements during the conversion of raw materials to finished product.
Process Evaluation and Product Protection Programs.

CIP Programs and Verifications
HACCP, GMP Training and Implementation
Product Labeling Compliance
Product Storage and Distribution
Oversees the management of all quality training to include GMP, HACCP, Allergen, Etc.
Responsible for leading and managing the Quality Department and all related job functions.
Monitor quality control systems to optimize detection or failures in the manufacturing process.
Lead problem-solving efforts through the facilitation of team meetings and on-the-floor leadership to effectively influence positive change and continuous improvement.
Communicate frequently with the corporate QA Team to be proactive in satisfying customer requirements.
Facilitate Product Safety Incident Reporting process
SQF Practitioner. Responsible for implementation and maintenance of the SQF program.
Requires regular attendance.
Requires that the work be performed only at the site.
May perform other job duties as required.
Bachelor’s Degree in Microbiology, Food Science or related field or equivalent experience.
Minimum of five years of supervisory/management and Quality related experience preferably in the Diary industry.
Working knowledge of regulatory requirements (i.e. FDA, USDA, Drug Residue, etc.)
Strong understanding of Plant QA systems (i.e. HACCP, Weight Control, etc.)
Must possess strong leadership, communication and organizational skills.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Power Point, AS400, etc.

FOOD SAFETY RESPONSIBILITIES:
All members of management are responsible for food safety including, but not limited to practicing GMP’s and appropriate food defense techniques.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s Degree in Microbiology, Food Science or related filed or equivalent experience.Minimum of five years of supervisory/management and Quality related experience preferably in the Dairy Industry.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Being able to resolve issues/problems that involve numerous variables in demanding situations. This position requires mental demands, including the ability to read, analyze and interpret reports. Ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines and work effectively under pressure is critical to this position.
