Amec Foster Wheeler Environment & Infrastructure is seeking a Senior Project Manager with a minimum of 20 years’ experience to become an integral part our geotechnical and civil business practice. The candidate should have demonstrated abilities to lead large complex geotechnical projects and in addition, ideally, this candidate will also have experience in the Power Utility industry and USACE dam and/or levee projects both from a civil/geotechnical design and an environmental compliance perspective. Finally, any experience managing other Sr. personnel as well as a P&L statements are considered a plus.
Key Responsibilities •Serve as project manager to develop scope, schedule, and budget and ensure successful project delivery •Provide leadership/mentoring to engineers and technicians and support the management of projects •Business development support for public and private sector clients, including identification of prospects, pursuit strategy, proposal development, and marketing activities •A strong background in Geotechnical Engineering with experience on civil and environmental aspects of large projects is desired •Needs to have a demonstrated history of management of large projects over a large geographic region with multidisciplinary team of engineers, geologists and scientists on projects involving the investigation, engineering design, and permitting of CCR impoundments and landfills, USACE dams/levees, large industrial projects, and complex geotechnical explorations •Experience with water resources engineering is beneficial with experience interacting with permitting agencies and can demonstrate examples of previous success navigating ever changing regulations •This candidate must demonstrate experience in the preparation of QA/QC construction documents, technical specifications, and opinions of probable construction costs •This candidate must have excellent organizational, written and verbal communication skills
Skills / Qualifications Required •Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or related engineering degree •Licensed Professional Engineer in the Commonwealth of Kentucky, or the ability to obtain reciprocity within 6 months •Minimum 20 years of experience in geotechnical/civil engineering projects with directly related experience including: ?Geotechnical evaluation and design ?Landfill closure/capping evaluation and design ?Dam analysis ?Levee certification evaluation ?Flood control evaluation and design •Demonstrated technical competence in subsurface exploration, soil classification, analysis for shallow and deep foundations, slope stability analysis, and report preparation •Flexibility to work outside normal business hours as required •Working knowledge and/or experience of the Federal Emergency Management Agency, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, and Natural Resource and Conservation Service requirements for flood control projects •Proven track record of successfully managing complex engineering projects on time and under budget •Experience with supporting the acquiring, performing and managing of federal, state, and local government and private sector client projects •Strong leadership and written/verbal communication skills •Able to understand project objectives and to arrange work flow and priorities accordingly •Able to manage multiple complex tasks, project designs and work plans in a fast-paced environment •Experience in mentoring and staff development
Desired •Knowledge in geo-engineering software such as GINT, LPILE, PCSTABLE, etc. •Demonstrated technical competence in hydrologic and hydraulic analysis and associated computer software •Working knowledge of AutoCAD and ArcGIS a plus •Working knowledge of hydrologic and hydraulic modeling software such as SITES, HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, SWMM, FLO-2D, or Riverflow-2D a plus •Master of Science in Civil Engineering or related engineering degree
