Alta Planning + Design is seeking an engineering professional in the field of transportation engineering for our Durham, North Carolina office. This is a unique opportunity for an engineering professional to take a key role working on high-profile active transportation projects in this office and Southeast region.
You’ll contribute to the production of high-quality, accurate and complete design documents, reports and analyses. You’ll solidify Alta’s reputation as a trusted advisor and expert, and be an integral part of the growth of Alta’s engineering team.
We’re seeking a professional who has knowledge of, and interest in, the field of active transportation, has a solid understanding of the engineering process, particular as it relates to transportation, and is looking for the next challenge in their career.

Possess at least a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
At least five (5) years of experience as a transportation engineer in a consulting environment or public entity
Working knowledge of NACTO, MUTCD, ADA and various DOT design requirements
Proficient in MS Excel, Word, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Synchro/SimTraffic or similar
