The Director of Quality ensures that Sallyport’s services are compliant with the company’s ANSI/ASIS PSC.1-2012 and ISO 9001 certified quality program requirements, in addition to complying with customer and regulatory requirements for quality, safety, and reliability.
Duties and Responsibilities
Responsible for the development, implementation, and strict adherence to our ANSI/ASIS PSC.1-2012 and ISO 9001 certified quality program. Develops and/or reviews standards, policies, and procedures for all functions and departments involved with or related to our services and contracts.
Responsible for the overall maintenance of Sallyport’s ANSI/ASIS PSC.1-2012 and ISO 9001 certified quality program and ICoCA membership status in good standing.
Engages with leadership on other certifications (e.g., ISO 18001:2007 Occupational Health & Safety Management System) as needed to grow the business.
Coordinates and provides leadership of the safety, quality, performance improvement, and risk management functions.
Reviews and resolves quality control problems/concerns with the site-specific Quality Control Manager and others including vendors, customers, quality control personnel, and management. Coordinates and assists with client and vendor inspections.
Periodically inspects completed quality control checklists, forms, and other documents; randomly inspects and verifies quality control checks for conformance to prescribed standards.
Monitor SeeSOR inspections at field locations to ensure the Standards are being inspected and review SeeSOR audit/inspection results monthly
Works with the leadership, department leads and managers in the development of processes to systematically monitor, evaluate and improve the quality in accordance with accepted standards and evidence based criteria, including the development of indicators and criteria.
Schedules and performs quality audits and reports findings to the Chief Executive Officer, Quality Control Manager and Vice Presidents/Directors of Operations; develops corrective action plans and ensures timely resolution of findings.
Receives and reviews all customer satisfaction surveys from the Vice President of SCM and customer complaints. Reviews complaint trends and services or contract deliverables failure analysis; reviews corrective actions with appropriate personnel.
Prepares reports and other documentation required by regulatory agencies and to support the quality function.
Ensures Sallyport’s Quality Objectives are maintained and adjusted based on industry requirements and developments.
Reviews current standards and policies.
Keeps records of quality reports, statistical reviews and relevant documentation required to maintain Sallyport’s ANSI/ASIS PSC.1-2012 and ISO 9001 certified quality program.
Ensure all legal standards are met.
Communicates with external quality assurance officers during on-site inspections.
Develops goals and objectives that support the primary functions of the company and reflect areas of responsibility.
Develops and administers risk-management/risk assessment and lose-prevention
Initiates policies to comply with legislation, industry standards and practices
Minimize asset liability
Acts as the liaison to attorneys, insurance companies and appropriate company personnel
Reviews and analyzes risk management programs for the effectivenes
Summary of Qualifications
A bachelor’s degree in business management or quality is required, as is 10 years of experience in Quality Assurance/Quality Management. A master’s degree in quality or a relevant field of business is preferred.
Must have proven ability to lead and adherence to our ANSI/ASIS PSC.1-2012 and ISO 9001 certified quality program. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well with people at all levels are essential. Must be able to demonstrate strong organizational and managerial skills. Project management experience is a must; prefer someone with strong MS-Project skills.
The ideal candidate is certified in one or more quality-related disciplines (e.g., CQA, CMQ/OE, PMP). Experience with MS-Office.
Good reasoning ability is required to solve a wide range of business problems. Able to apply statistical calculations, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, and sampling theory as well as algebra, linear equations, and other analytics as required. Able to understand and utilize Internet server and network reports to conduct business. Ability to communicate orally with customers, vendors, management and other co-workers is crucial. Regular use of the telephone and e-mail for communication is essential.
No heavy lifting is expected. Exertion of up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally may be required. Good manual dexterity for the use of common office equipment such as computer terminals, calculator, copiers, and fax machines. Sitting for extended periods is common. Hearing and vision within normal ranges is helpful for normal conversations, to receive ordinary information and to prepare or inspect documents.
The job is a full-time position to be performed in Sallyport’s Corporate Headquarters in Reston, Virginia. Due to the nature and responsibilities of this position, full-time presence is required at Corporate Headquarters. Occasional travel to OCONUS work sites will also be necessary for audits and maintenance of certifications.
