A West Michigan manufacturer located near the shore of Lake Michigan is seeking an experienced Quality Manager. The purpose of this position is to ensure that our quality system is aligned and effective. The ideal candidate will have experience supporting operations teams' processes such as conventional gauge R&R studies, SPC Controls, PPAP, and DFM. The Quality Manager will plan, schedule and coordinate all aspects of quality assurance work. In addition to leading quality, this role is responsible and obligated to train and certify the competency of our team, so processes and finished goods meet or exceed company standards.
About The Open Position:
Responsible to ensure the quality of the products shipped to the customer meet customer expectation and design requirements.
May stop production for non-conforming parts/part out of control process.
Identify, organize, and prioritize the quality implementation objectives.
Support of the development of the Quality Department.
Responsible to meet company quality objectives as set by management.
Responsible to ensure all quality records are completed and up-to-date.
Responsible to develop the competency of the quality department personnel, including the administration of employee reviews and training.
Assists to maintain ISO 9001 certification.
Coordinate manufacturing process control to ensure customer satisfaction.
Perform MSA, APQP, Gage R&R, and Process Capabilities.
Create FMEAs, control plans, process flow charts, work instructions, and training documents as required.
Will be a lead in annual design reviews and production layouts, review and maintain supplier material certifications and control and monitor the temporary ECN process.
Work with engineering to ensure process consistency and product quality.
Coordinate 8D corrective action teams.
Calibration and training for measuring system tools.
Required to effectively participate in corrective action teams in order to address the root cause in a timely manner.
You could be right for this job if you have:
Certified Quality Manager or similar with a minimum of eight years of experience in a high volume manufacturing environment.
Bachelors degree preferred or equivalent experience.
Ability to gain knowledge of products, market requirements, customer, and industry requirements.
Microsoft Excel and Outlook working knowledge.
Able to lead, delegate and create an effective and harmonious work environment.
Ability to gain knowledge of the ISO 9001 system requirements.
Problem solving experience in 8-D or similar.
Ability to understand and read detailed blueprints.
Solid understanding of the AIAG manuals; SPC, MSA, FMEA, APQP, QSA processes.
Ability to instruct and train direct reports to have command the AIAG processes.
Experience in an SAP and AS400 system.
Ability to: perform Internal Audits, develop and manage quality documents, gain knowledge of products, quality and safety policies.
